How to Draw My Own Building Plans

Paying a professional to draw out building plans can be costly. Luckily, you can download architectural software for free online and anyone with basic design knowledge can design and draw out building plans himself. This allows the homeowner to sketch out exactly what type of home she wants to build. Programs, such as 3D Home Architect, are easy to use, even for the most novice designer. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you draw your own building plans.

Step 1

Download 3D Home Architect from the Internet. Many businesses offer a free version of the program, such as cnetdownload.com (see resources below.) On the webpage containing the 3D Home Architect download, click on the link called "Download Now" located next to a green button. The program will begin to download onto your PC computer right away and will be available to use within minutes.

Step 2

Open a new file within the 3D Home Architect program by clicking the word "File" in the upper left hand side of the screen. Zoom out by clicking the word "Window" at the top of the screen, and selecting "Move Out (X2)."

Step 3

Create the exterior walls of the house by clicking on the wall icon at the top left hand side of the screen. The icon resembles a single, three-dimensional wall. Once you select this icon, you will be able to click anywhere on the page and draw out the walls of your house. While you draw, the measurements will appear next to the wall. This will allow your design to display the dimensions of the walls. It will also help you create home plans that could be approved.

Step 4

Create the interior walls and features of the house. Continue using the wall icon to create interior walls, separating the rooms of the house. Add furniture and utilities to help you visualize the layout of the rooms. To add furniture, click on the chair icon at the top of the screen. To add utilities, click on the toilet icon. For each selection, a window will appear featuring different furniture and utility choices. Once you click on the specific selection, you can insert the furniture or utility by clicking anywhere on your design page.

Step 5

Create a roof for your house. Click on the roof icon located at the top of the page. It resembles a highlighted roof. A window will appear that will allow you to set the specific pitch and dimensions of the roof.

Step 6

Once your finish your home design, save the design to a local file on your computer. Click on the word "File" and then select "Save As" from the drop-down list. A window will appear and allow you to name your file. Type in any name you wish and click "OK."

Just… confused but loving it!

I decided to download EPIC 2 again to bring back childhood memories. The last time I played was a few hours ago though… I decide to play it again so I could continue from earlier cause I had to go. I was on the chapter "Frog Bog" but now all of a sudden, I can't play levels 3 and up. It has a giant lock on it. It's now apart of the drawn below deal. Obviously I have already played chapters 3 and up but haven't finished 6. And like I said originally it wasn't locked. I was hoping maybe it's my WiFi but idk.. I tapped on the offer and saw that it's more of the pencils. Sword, ice, egg, and key. I have already gotten egg and key but now I'm assuming I can't get through the whole game.. I was wondering if this is happening for everyone you did it for? And if so, can u maybe change it? Some people might want to beat the game but can't.

I love this game, you put creativity and more into it! This game is my favorite game and if you ever went out of business I'd scream so loud they'd think something's wrong with me. I do have a problem, do you mind if you could please not make us pay 3 dollars for the whole game? Yes, I know it's only 3 dollars, but I'm a kid and I'd have to use my allowance but I don't want to because my friends birthday gift for roblox won't work, so I want to buy her something to fix it. This is a great game, I've already looked at most of the art gallery on the website. I am dieing to go to chapter 3, but I have to pay for it. If your not able for us to not buy it, that's okay! I love this game so much, The boss for each level are insanely challenging and awsome! I would love an Epic 4 Thats just like this, And the fact that people are hating on this app for it not being free, Is insane, As for me I don't care about it costing only 3 Dollars. Really cheep, Huh?
I Get it, Some people are kids here, That don't have money and want to play this, But its a crazy fun game, I get it! My experience with this game is awsome, This may sound a lil weird but i would like to restart my game and play this again without paying, This is highly recommended for kids :) They would both have great imagination and A fun experience that would last forever!

Concerns over hoverboards catching fire have made one of this year's most popular Christmas gifts too hot for Amazon.

As first noted by Best Reviews, the company has pulled nearly all of the brands of hoverboards from its site as federal regulators investigate reports of them exploding into flames.

There have been 11 reports in 10 states of the self-balancing electric scooters bursting into flames received by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, spokesman Scott Wolfson told TODAY on Monday. The CPSC is currently conducting an investigation.

"We're looking at a very wide array of models and products,'' Wolfson said. "We want to know who's selling them, where and through what means."

Amazon is now asking any hoverboard sellers for "documentation demonstrating that all hoverboards you list are compliant with applicable safety standards."

"That's a good sign of safety by a retailer to take the issue to that level,'' Wolfson said about Amazon's response.

Meanwhile, Overstock.com has stopped selling the gadgets altogether.

The Toy Industry Association does not consider hoverboards toys because they are primarily used for transportation, meaning there are no regulations for them, so the quality varies.

"I think it's a legitimate question to ask,'' Sean Kane, founder and president of The Safety Institute, told TODAY Monday. "If I buy a high-end version, am I getting a safer one? And the answer is we don't know."

The quality of the lithium-ion batteries used to power the boards can vary, with cheaper components making them more susceptible to fire, Carnegie Mellon University professor Jay Whitacre told WIRED magazine.

"This is very similar to our message in 2005 when we were seeing fires with lithium ion batteries in cell phones and computers,'' Wolfson said. "This is not a foreign issue to us."

The ten states where the fires were reported are Ohio, Louisiana, Alabama, California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, New York, Washington and Maryland.

The latest, at a home in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on Nov. 8, occurred when a hoverboard that was charging blew up and set a bed on fire, according to Wolfson and Montgomery County fire officials.

Similar incidents have also been reported in New York and Florida.

While it conducts its investigation, the CPSC has also issued tips for hoverboard safety.

• Do not charge hoverboards overnight because of the lithium-ion batteries.
• Wear a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads when using one.
• Report any incidents, whether it's a fire or fall, to saferproducts.gov.
